You need one of these

Nah, I swear they put something in their soda, same over here. Used to work in a cinema, you don't wanna know what they used to do to the hotdogs...

They were on TV and everythin' here about a year or so ago, touted as the "ultimate must-have" for long car journeys...

That's actually a truck driver trick Sometimes there's just not a truck stop when you need one.

Also, while I IMDB'd Mr Bay's oh-so-impressive CV, I couldn't help but notice he's involved with a remake of 'The Hitcher' - now, wasn't Don on the rampage about the guy who wrote the original recently (in that thread about why he hates IDW)?
The Rock is great fun. Stop meaning mean for the sake of it!

No less than two hours. I would love to see it three hours like King Kong, but I don't think the non-fans woud tolerate it.

For the cost of going the movie had better be at least two hours long, and I would prefer 2.5 hours.

For the cost of going to the movie, I'd just as well buy the DVD. In the end, cost has little to do with why we go to movies.

Agreed, Transformers is story that has developed along with it's characters in the 25+ years that it's been out. There is depth in the storylines of not just Megatron and Optimus, but Autobots and Decepticons in general. 2.5, yep. Oh, yeah and the movie shouldn't be targeted for children. I mean look at Spider-Man, children loved him from back in the day, but people grew up and movie was targeted for the older audiences. The children fell in place for the cool factor of the character and that's the same way that I feel Transformers should have their movie.
Also, How long was Spider-Man?

Wow, really, it felt like 2 and a half hours, especially since they had to go through how he became Spider-Man. Which is similar to what I think the Transformers will do, redoing how the Autobots and Decepticons got to earth and the Ark crashing into the Volcano.

Evidentially it was a well managed use of time. Didn't feel rushed with the background story and still had enough Spidey time.

Well then I hope they can do the same with this movie. If the storyline is good enough, I can see this as being a good trilogy and put its mark in like Spider-Man, Matrix, LOTR and Underworld(will be a part 3).

So, technically you liked Kate Beckinsale, not the movie itself.
And if she hadn't been in it..?

It depends on the writing and the characters, If the story flows well and the characters are likeable it can stretch three plus hours and it won't be noticed. If it lacks either two hours could be too long.

If it's me, I'm always dying for a pee twenty minutes after the movie starts (damn those preceding 45 minutes of trailers and commercials!). Let it be a nice hour and three quarters in the cinemas, and then give us a longer version on DVD.
