Default Need some TF advise

I love Transformers, all my toys as a kid were Transformers, I never missed any of the cartoons etc. but the original cartoon show and Beast Wars were the only thing I watched. I read a few of the comics and that's about it.

I'm looking for something good to read about the Transformers and was hoping someone could point me in the direction of some good books or mini series comics that have come out (I say mini series cause if some of the comics have 200 issues it would be impossible for me to find all of them). I'm also looking for something complete that has a beginning and an end, I didn't want to jump into the middle of something or get hype into a story that was never finished. Also wanted to know when the movie adaptation comic is out or is their a date yet?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hunt down the Dreamwave trade paperbacks or individual issues.

Generation One Vol.1 & 2 (4 issues each on their own)

The War Within Vol. 1 (2 is on the way, Vol. 3 was like only 1 or 2 issues long before getting cancelled)

The Micromasters (4 issue mini)

Armada and Energon (lasted only around 30-odd issues before cancelled, IIRC)

G1 Ongoing (11 issues in length before cancelled)

The Mid-Summer Special

Shouldn't be too hard to hunt these down. There was also a decent profile book for both G1 and Armada done by IDW that can be had in tradepaperback.

I just bought vol 1 & 2 of the dreamwave g1 comics. They have great artwork and a great story, but they are inconsistant. For example, at the end of vol1, there is a preview of vol2, and it's totally different than what vol2 is about, so it may not be your cup of tea since you're looking for something that doesn't abruptly end. If you like artwork, then that's the way to go and they're pretty cheap if you look them up on amazon.

I stopped by the comic store and they only had #3 of the Micro Masters.

I also stopped by the book store and they had nothing at all so I guess I'm going to stop by the used book store sometime and if they don't have anything, I'll go through Amazon to get them.

Quick question, when I was at the book store I saw there's already a prequel out for the movie called "the ghosts of yesterday". I was wondering if there's a good amount of Transformers in it or is it just about the humans? I read the back of the book and it seems like it's just covers the very first encounter humans had with the Transformers and when humans sent out a tracker into space to find out more (in the very first sneak preview of the movie when you see it get destroyed by a giant robot) so is it something interesting or not worth wasting my time?

Thanks again!

I woke up Sunday to a fresh batch of TF's comics!!! My Fiance went to some yard sales and picked me up a bunch of the original Marvel comics. She got me issues 8,12,17,18,19,22 and the 4 issue mini of G.I Joe meets the TF's all for 25 cents a peice, and their in great condition!
I also picked up the ghosts of yesterday novel, I'll start reading some of that tonight.
I still need to stop by that used book store sometime to see if they have those books if not I'll have to Amazon/Ebay for them.

Yes!!!! I also noticed that and it kinda made me angry!!!!

And another thing is that I can't get Volume III anywhere!!

By the way... I recommend "Evolutions: Hearts of Steel"... I thought it was cool because Starscream is the central Decepticon character in the tale and Bumblebee the same thing for the Autobots... and also because they are all older vehicles which I thought was cool... (especially Scourge, which I did not expect to see and even less what he transforms into... Insecticons were cool to see also...)

Try finding Transformers: Ghosts of Yesterday by Alan Foster (Movie Prequel) it's set in the late 60's and its awesome (in summer he's also releasing a movie adaptation for us to read too )
